If you’ve ever talked dance with studio co-owner Barbara Haller, you know that her best advice for improving your dance is practice, practice, practice. This is also the advice she gives to the instructors of Arthur Murray Dance Center in Dayton. Kudos to Megan, Amanda, and Orion on receiving their ongoing certification from dance champion Troy Beaten.
“It was incredible to have such a talented dance professional like Troy Beaten in our studio to work with our instructors,” said Barbara Haller, co-owner of Arthur Murray Dance Center in Dayton. ” Not only is Troy an Arthur Murray franchise owner, but he has also won numerous U.S. titles over the course of his career and coaches across the country.” she concluded.
Continuing her on going certification, Amanda is a Counselor and Bridal Department Director for Arthur Murray Dance Center in Dayton. Amanda was born and raised in Eaton, Ohio. As a child she took classes in tap, ballet, and jazz. As an adult she took salsa lessons and always loved to go out dancing, but never thought about pursuing it as a career. She was working in the food industry when she met Barbara Haller, whom offered her a job on the spot! An award-winning dance professional with numerous titles and Mirror Ball Trophies under her belt, Amanda’s favorite part of her career is hearing people say how dancing has changed their lives, as it has certainly changed hers!
New to Arthur Murray but not new to dance, Megan is a Specialist-Teacher with an extensive dance background as a child but took a ten-year break from the dance floor after a serious injury. In preparation for her wedding, this Miami University graduate with a master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology, reignited her love affair with dance. After just a few years of dancing as a student, Megan is a full time and award-winning instructor at our Dayton dance studio.
New to our studio, Orion, Director of Dance, was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. He grew up competing in sports such as Jiu Jitsu, Basketball, and Track and Field. After high school he followed his love for sports and became certified sports and injury therapist, massage therapist, and personal trainer. In 2011 he joined the UCSB collegiate ballroom team where he competed in International Latin and Standard. His passion for dancing quickly led him into joining the Arthur Murray family in 2012 and since then has been very successful on the competition floor. Most recently placing 3rd in Open Professional Standard and winning the Rising Star Smooth competition at the Arthur Murray world championships in Las Vegas.
